Tasuku Matsumura: Japan’s FIFTH best English speaker! 松村　侑（１Ｓ）くん、全国高等学校英語スピーチコンテスト５位 2010.02.09 Having come first in the Kochi and Shikoku Speech contests, Tasuku Matsumura went to Tokyo last weekend, knowing that the competition would be really strong, but determined to enjoy the whole experience. The final contest was attended by two winners from each block in Japan: the strongest eighteen high school speakers in the country.　 Tasuku gave his best ever performance on the day, and came fifth overall: a great achievement. However, perhaps more importantly, he was able to meet and socialize with other like-minded, internationally-minded, and open-minded high school students. This was Tosa’s third time in a row to get to the national championships. Can we make it four next year? 　 　高知県大会と四国ブロック大会で優勝した松村侑くんが先週末東京で行われた第３回全国高等学校英語スピーチ大会に出場しました。 　全国９ブロック（各ブロックの優勝者と準優勝者が全国大会に出場）の極めて高いレベル１８名の出場者で競い合い、松村君は自分のベストパフォーマンスができ、５位に入賞しました。大会後のレセプションでは国際的な視野を持つ他の高校生と親交を深めました。土佐高校は今回で３年連続の全国大会出場を果たすことができました。 ＜松村君の感想＞ 　全国大会に出場して、すばらしい経験ができました。たくさんの人の前で楽しみを感じることもできた上に、とても個性が豊かすぎる高校生たちに出会うこともできました。そして、最初から最後まで全国の英語レベルに圧倒されました。あと、竜馬ネタはウケがよかったです。英語を話すことができたら、自分の世界が広がると思うので、もっともっと英語力を上げたいと思います。スピーチの指導をしてくださった先生方、Thank you very much!
